This module develops strategic approaches to organizational development. The focus is on management behavior optimization and enhancement of organizational performance. In particular, these strategic approaches determine how to attain the desired strategic and management objectives in a most expedient manner, as well as the necessary key managerial skills and competencies. A basic argument evolving around the path of organizational sustainability is that the implementation of strategic and management objectives is quickest when the organization initiates highly compatible management activities.
ORGANIZATIONAL PROGRAMMING: THE ANALYTICAL PROCESS
One of the main challenges of sustainability is the synergy of managerial talent needed for advancing the pre-set strategic objectives. This module advances a quantitative and qualitative evaluation of management skills and activities necessary for sustainable organizational development in different managerial situations emerging in the context of the Analytical process. This module helps create a profile of managerial employees and defines their strengths and weaknesses, i.e. level of performance in different managerial situations. In addition, it reveals a methodological path that helps evaluate the real potential of an organization to initiate and successfully carry out indispensable strategic changes.
ORGANIZATIONAL PROGRAMMING: THE INNOVATIVE PROCESS
Sustainable management practices in an organization depends on the extent of HR profiling in relation to and close liaison with the set strategic objectives. It justifies the need of systematic evaluation of the HR potential to carry out the initiated strategic change in the organization. In case there is a high degree of incompatibility between managerial potential (necessary skills for carrying out a strategic change in an organization) and management behavior (available skills for implementing the initiated change) it is expected a higher HR management risk that creates a prerequisite for turbulent organizational functioning. The role of human resources is to balance this risk by delaying the necessary strategic changes or by modelling HR functioning in a way that meets with the established strategic priorities. In this sense the role of the human resources in an organization is of strategic, not operational importance. It is limited not only to profiling every employee in the organization, but also to orchestrating the desired strategic changes by mapping out employees functions in the process of change management in an organization.
